Portable Recirculators

Our portable recirculating wet washers are perfect for desert environments where water is hard to find. These units utilize 10 to 15 gallons of water for operation. Our portable recirculators are constructed from .063 (1/16 inch) 5052 aircraft grade aluminum for durability and light weight. All of our recirculators operate off a 12 volt pumps and a 12 volt power source is required for operation (not included). You can use your car battery or do as many of our customers do and buy a small 12 volt battery just for this purpose.

One of the most common questions I recieve about these units is "how many cubic yards of material can they handle in an hour". Honestly the real question is "HOW MUCH MATERIAL DO YOU WANT OR PLAN TO SHOVEL IN AN HOUR"? Lets break this down a bit so we can see how much dirt is in a cubic yard. First a cubic yard is "roughly" 2000-2500 lbs of dirt depending on material type (sand, clay, dirt, etc). This comes out to be "roughly" 35 - 5 gallon buckets of dirt filled up to the top. Also to put this into perspective an 8' foot long pick up bed filled to the bed rails would hold "roughly" 2 cubic yards of material. As you can see this is a good amount of raw material to be processed and with the recirculator utilizing a 30 gallon tote you could run 8-12, 5 gallon buckets (again depending on material being processed) before needing to clean out the tote which would be roughly an hour of run time. So a rough and basic answer would be 1/3 of a cubic yard per hour, or 8-12 5 gallon buckets or about 500-750 lbs of material. These units are designed to be affordable, portable and for the casual prospector. If you're looking to utilize heavy equipment for your mining operation these units will not work for you!

Unlike our competitors "portable tote" models, all our models come with an aluminum screen box that rests on top of the tote. This screen box has been designed to fit various manufactures totes ranging from 18-30 gallons in size. This screen helps keep the larger debris out of the tote and away from the water pump. This greatly extends your prospecting time between having to clean out the tote and helps extend pump life and there is no large debris in the tote. We are currently the only manufacturer that provides this screen box and it works amazing.  As your operating the unit, debris will run through the sluice box and build up on the screen box assembly. You then simply push excess debris off the screen with the included rubber squeegee. The excess material will be pushed off the screen and the water will return to the tote. This ensures the excess material will not fill up your tote as quickly, reduces wear and tear on the pump units and keeps you prospecting much longer between cleaning out the tote. Also when it's time to clean out the tote you can shovel out the mud and muck without completely tearing down the unit. There is enough room to clean out the mud and leave the unit set up and ready to go.

All our units also include 1/2 inch expanded metal mesh in the hopper. This is easily removed if your just running concentrates and the material is already processed and classified. If your running material straight from the earth, simply leave the expanded metal in the hopper to help classify your material. This expanded mesh helps the unit work more effectively by breaking up clay balls and dirt clots and keeps larger rocks from running down the sluice. When you have excess larger material on top of the expanded mesh just lift out the mesh and dump the debris. This unit works most efficiently when you use a 1/2 inch bucket sieve to classify your material before running them through the recirculator.

Our smallest unit the "Weekender" is made to completely breakdown and fit in a 18 gallon tote (please note due to the sluice box length the lid will NOT fit on the tote, but all pieces fit securely inside). You can get the Weekender up and running on 10-15 gallons of water and a 12 volt battery (not included). This unit is perfect for prospectors who want a unit that is easy to move from site to site and will store easily in a vehicle or at home. This unit can also be utilized as a high capacity clean up sluice after a long day of dredging or drywashing or for sampling different sites quickly and easily.

Price on the above unit is $379.99 + Shipping and handling.
Included is the sluice and hopper assembly, aluminum legs for the hopper, pump, pump mount and all required tubing and screen box.

This video clip shows the recirculator in action. This clip demonstrates the amount of debris our screen box keeps out of the tote. This ensures you keep prospecting longer before needing to clean out the tote and saves wear and tear on the pump by minimizing debris in the pump and plumbing system. (Please note the water saving classifier system on the hopper assembly is still in the R&D phases and not available for sale at this time.)
